KUWAIT- Kuwait will participate in the 14th International Architecture Exhibition (Fundamentals) of the la Biennale di Venezia, Italy, announced the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) on Thursday(May 1st,2014).

YQQFOGHBNB78917The six-month exhibition will see the participation of 21 NCCAL members, said Alya Abdulaal, the exhibition’s coordinator in a press conference.
She added that the aim of the participation is to shed light on the concept of modernization in Kuwait through the display of a number of buildings, such as the Kuwait National Museum, which was designed in 1960 and finished in 1983.

“Clarifying the impact of modernization concepts on local culture and measuring the level of its interaction with society components, whether integrated, interchangeable, neglected or rejected within the Kuwaiti society, is the major objective of the participation,” she added.

By telling the history of the last 100 years cumulatively, the exhibition will generate a global overview of architecture’s evolution into a single, modern aesthetic, and at the same time uncover within globalization the survival of unique national features and mentalities that continue to exist and flourish even as international collaboration and exchange intensify.

The exhibition will kick off June 7 and lasts until November 23.-KUNA
