Egyptians abroad cast votes to choose new President

CAIRO- Egyptians abroad will begin casting their votes Thursday(May 15th) to choose their new President, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry late Wednesday.

The remaining candidates in the presidential race are Former Defense Minister Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and prominent leftist politician Hamdeen Sabbahi.

a4678e60-7d11-4e6b-8df9-113c0a6786b6The Foreign Ministry said in statement that polling stations in embassies and consulates abroad were ready to receive voters from 9:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. according to the local-time in each of the 124 countries where the missions are located in. The voting process will continue till May 18th.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Bader Abulmuti called on Egyptians abroad to participate in the voting process to choose their new President.
He affirmed that eligible voters were allowed to visit Egyptian diplomatic missions across the globe to cast their votes.

The presidential election within Egypt is scheduled on May 26-27. The election is part of the roadmap for Egypt’s future which saw the adoption of the constitution and now followed by the presidential election, and then ending with the parliamentary election.-KUNA
