DCIBF hosts seminar for visiting students from Paris Dauphine University

DUBAIDubai Centre for Islamic Banking and Finance (DCIBF),of Hamdan Bin Mohammad Smart University hosted an Islamic Finance Seminar in cooperation with the Paris Dauphine University, one of the top five European universities for accounting and finance. The seminar, which was held at HBMSU campus, discussed a series of timely topics like Islamic Finance in France, Europe and North Africa where the guest of honor; HE Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, CEO for the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre (DIEDC) delivered the closing speech. Present during the event were senior academics and high-ranking financiers, along with a group of 20 students studying for their Executive Master Principles and Practices of Islamic Finance at the university.

Image 1The Islamic Finance Seminar is part of the tour being held for students in the Middle East, which is considered a primary destination for Islamic Finance. The educational tour serves as a strategically important initiative aimed at promoting mutual relations and crucial partnerships with the Paris Dauphine University and other top academic institutions and regional entities related to Islamic Finance. It will cater to mutual aspirations of creating new prospects and promising opportunities for Islamic Finance graduates.

For his part, Prof. Nabil Baydoun, CEO, Dubai Centre for Islamic Banking and Finance, said: “Choosing DCIBF to be part of the Paris Dauphine University’s ‘Executive Master Principles and Practices in Islamic Finance’ student tour reflects the high confidence that the international academic community has for the Centre. DCIBF is a leading initiative aimed at improving effective response to the requirements of Islamic banking and finance in the region. Launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and President of HBMSU, DCBIF offers high-quality academic programs and training courses to strengthen the concept of Islamic economy, based on three main pillars – Human Capital Development, Research, and Community Service. The Centre was established through the mutual cooperation between HBMSU and the ‘Dubai: Capital of Islamic Economy’ initiative.

Taking part from April 26 to May 11, the Paris Dauphine University student tour across the Middle East includes stopover at Bahrain, the UAE and Qatar – three of the top economies in the Arab World and leading countries in Islamic finance in the world.
