RIYADH-The demand for energy is at an all time high in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), as it experiences a rise in all forms of lighting – including lighting setups for factories, energy plants and airports, emergency lighting systems for office and residences and other innovative lighting solutions like the ones used in economic cities and universities. The Saudi Ministry of Water and Electricity is currently seeking to adopt cutting edge lighting solutions to regulate the consumption of electricity and reduce its wastage. To this effect, the Ministry has awarded projects worth USD 3.7 billion, with an aim to save 40 per cent of the consumed energy.
To throw the spotlight on the latest products and services for the power sector, Saudi Energy 2014 – The International Trade Exhibition for Electricity, Power Generation, Alternative Energy, Water Technology and Lighting, will take place from May 26 to 28, 2014 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre. To be held under the patronage of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Water and Environment, the event is organized by Riyadh Exhibitions Company and Informa Exhibitions.
Fahad Al Athel, Deputy General Manager, Riyadh Exhibitions Company, said: “The Saudi Ministry of Water and Electricity is on the look out for new technologies and innovative lighting solutions which can tremendously decrease electricity consumption and its waste thereby reducing the burden on non-renewable energy resources. The event will be a leading gateway for the international energy experts to interact with their local peers and discuss new trends along with cooperation opportunities in Saudi Arabia.”
Saudi Energy 2014 will witness visitors and exhibitors from the government agencies, power production companies, power corporations, factory operators, construction and development companies, service providers, large industrial companies, and distributors and retailers. The event will host nearly 314 exhibitors from 28 countries who will showcase their products, services and technologies to more than 7,500 professional visitors from Saudi Arabia and the region. The event will offer a chance gain first-hand experience of fresh technologies and new equipments and stay abreast with the industry and market developments in the region.
