The three suspects who were arrested in the UAE for killing an Israeli-Moldovan rabbi.
The UAE has confirmed the arrest of three Uzbek nationals in connection with the murder of Israeli-Moldovan Rabbi Tzvi Kogan, as reported by the state news agency WAM. The suspects, identified as Olimboy Tohirovich, 28; Makhmudjon Abdulrakhim, 28; and Azizbek Kamilovich, 33, have been handed over to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
On Sunday, the UAE announced Kogan’s murder and the arrests. According to the interior ministry, Kogan was identified as a Moldovan national based on his documents and had been residing in the UAE.
The investigation began after Kogan’s family filed a missing person’s report, prompting authorities to locate his body and apprehend the suspects. The Chabad-Lubavitch movement, of which Kogan was a member, expressed deep sorrow, stating he was “murdered by terrorists after being abducted.”
Kogan was last seen on Thursday in Dubai, with reports suggesting he had been kidnapped. A video circulating online showed him earlier in the week at a kosher grocery store in the city.
