KUWAIT- The First Conference and Exhibition of Woman Sport is to find solution to obstacles facing women in sports, Chairwoman of the Organizing Committee for Women Sport in GCC countries Sheikha Naeema Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said Monday(April 28th.2014).
Having Kuwaiti prominent sport women in this conference, themed “Sport is lifestyle,” will definitely contribute to sport in general, and improving the concept of sport lifestyle to family members and society, Sheikha Naeema, who is also the Chairwoman of Kuwait Women Sports Association, said in a speech at the opening session of the conference.
The conference, sponsored by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah, will discuss four main aspects: sports and health, sports and culture, Kuwaiti women in sport, and examples of achievements and success.
For his part, Youth Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Affairs Fawaz Al-Husainan called, in a statement to KUNA, for taking a serious stance to fight obesity, which threatens Kuwaiti youth.
Al-Husainan stressed on the need to take advantage of views of sport elite to promote women’s sports in line with the framework of “our conservative community,” which does not conflict at all with sports and physical fitness to maintain protection for women’s health and family.-KUNA
