MANAMA- The Executive Director of Isa Cultural Centre Dr. Khaldoon Aba Hussain said the scientific symposium which will be organised by the centre on the history of late Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa is a translation of His Majesty the King’s keenness on documenting history.
“HM the King established when he was a Crown Prince a centre for historical documents and appended it to his court,” he said, pointing out that the symposium will be held at Isa Cultural Centre on May 11 and 12 under the patronage of the centre’s Board of Trustees Chairman and Honorary President of the GCC countries’ Documents and Studies Centres Secretariat General Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa.
The symposium, which coincides with the 28th periodic meeting of the GCC countries’ Documents and Studies Centres Secretariat General, will bring together researchers from 17 centres specialising in history.
The event epitomises Isa Cultural Centre’s goals in documenting history and keeping a record of late Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s era and achievements, the centre’s Executive Director revealed in a statement to BNA.
A gallery of rare historic documents and an exhibition of the latest publications of regional history centres will also be held on the sidelines of the symposium, he added at a press conference at Isa Cultural Centre today(May 8th). -BNA
