Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Sabah touts Gulf security
KUWAIT- Deputy Premier and Interior Minister said on Wednesday(April 30th) several clear-cut Gulf security achievements have been made.
In a keynote speech during the 15th consultative meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) interior ministers, he said: “Positive tangible results have been achieved in view of response to all traditional and new crimes, primarily drugs and terrorism.” The minister called for more concerted efforts to find appropriate mechanisms and to take necessary decrees to fight crimes and terrorism in order to fend off relevant destructive effects and to pave the way for development and prosperity.
Security personnel shoulder responsibility for providing security to citizens and maintaining national stability, he said, adding that the Gulf people still want more security work to be done amid regional security changes and challenges.
On the 15th consultative meeting of the GCC interior ministers, the minister hailed the gathering as a good opportunity for the conferees to discuss various security issues of mutual interest and to find single effective visions and solutions for closer security cooperation.
