DUBAI- Thousands of Keralites in Dubai gathered at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on July 9th to attend the Malayalam lecture on ‘Patience: The Key to Paradise’, presented by Sheikh Hussain Salafi.
During his lecture, Sheikh Hussain focused on the power of patience and highlighted that preaching and writing about patience is easy, but the difficult part is to practice it. The road to heaven is paved with suffering and difficulty; only those who have mastered the virtues of tolerance and sacrifice may gain entrance to heaven, Sheikh Hussain explained.
He also advised the audience on performing Salaah five times a day, observing fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, in addition to committing themselves for a pilgrimage to Hajj at least once in their lifetime and offering Zakah to those in need. He encouraged the audience to love the Almighty more than anything else and to not let anything distract them on their journeys.
Health of the Fasting Awareness Campaign
As part of the ‘Health of the Fasting’ awareness campaign, Dr. Mohamed Arshad Khan from Prime Hospital, Dubai, presented an insightful session on “Bone and Joint Pains”. He focused on the lifestyles of patients suffering from these issues and prescribed treatments such as regular medication and weight loss to reduce the intensity of the aches.
Visiting the Sick
‘Visiting the Sick’ is another key initiative organized by the Ramadan Forum, which aims to boost the morale of the patients, particularly those recouping in the hospital over an extended period. Further, these visits serve as psychotherapy for many, enhancing the efficacy of their clinical treatments. As part of this initiative, Sheikh Adnan Al Khatib and Sheikh Alaa Qadi visited numerous patients at Dubai Hospital.
“While interacting with the patients at the hospital, we were successful in bringing about a smile on their faces and cheering them up. These visits are important ways of giving back to the community because they help uplift the spirits of many patients who are stuck in the hospital for very long periods. They create a positive atmosphere in the wards, which plays a significant role in their recovery. Many of them also asked us to pray for them and we request our fellow residents to keep them in their prayers during Ramadan and beyond,” said Sheikh Adnan Al Khatib.
Preacher of the Nation Competition
At the ‘Preacher of the Nation’ competition, Ibrahim Fahim Che Bhandari presented a sermon in Arabic titled, ‘Sins of the Tongue’.
