SEWA Chairman Becomes Example, Works 12hrs/day for Strategies Week

Sharjah: H.E. Dr Rashid Alleem, the Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), is not unknown to doing exemplary acts. The SEWA chairman, who only recently left a Kashmiri expat speechless by helping him to change a flat tire, sprang a surprise again after he decided to work from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm this week in connection with SEWA Strategies Week, that comes to an end today.

And this comes when most other organisations in Sharjah are still working short hours or even beginning to have their full hands on deck due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

H.E. Dr Rashid Alleem said that the move is aimed at carrying out the necessary analysis of the strategic position and competitive situation across all sectors of SEWA, and making an administrative decision to improve their performance after Covid-19 ground the emirate to a halt.

“We will be analysing the present position and the ways to improve the overall performance of all sectors. The teams will start work from 7:00 am till 7:00 pm for the whole week,” he said.

As part of the effort, more than 35 departments, teams and representatives of the industrial, residential and commercial sectors will take part in the SEWA Strategies Week meetings and workshops. The new strategy features will be announced across all sectors and their success rests on several factors, Dr Alleem said.

“The future strategy depends on its ability to develop a clear vision for the intended results and its reliance on simplified intellectual models and frameworks, development plans, and a permanent communication policy between the task forces, the administrative structure and the masses,” Dr Alleem added.

He also hailed His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and the ruler of Sharjah, for his wholehearted support to SEWA, saying his backing would go a long way in deciding the outcome of the effort.
