RTX Renews Support for ADU Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition

ABU DHABI:  RTX, a global leader in technology and innovation, has announced its continued sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi University (ADU) Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition for the next two years, extending its commitment to nurturing local talent and promoting STEM education in the UAE.

The annual competition provides a platform for students from across the GCC, wider MENA region, and beyond to showcase their research projects, fostering a culture of lifelong learning and entrepreneurial mindset in education, research, and innovation. This year, the competition will feature a hybrid format and will be held under the Patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

Prof. Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, highlighted the importance of fostering creativity and innovation, stating, “The 11th ADU Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition serves as a catalyst for growth and development in STEM fields, aligning with the UAE’s vision for a knowledge-based economy. Thanks to the collaboration of our partners and industry, we have seen significant participation in this year’s competition, with 77 universities and over 600 submissions. We are immensely grateful for RTX’s continued support, which has been instrumental in maximizing our impact in the region. We thank them for their extended commitment, showcasing their dedication to empowering the next generation of future leaders.”

This year’s competition will introduce five new fields, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, Aviation and Aerospace Engineering, E-Commerce and Digital Marketing, Law, and Nutritional and Food Sciences.

The 11th edition of the Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition is scheduled for May 23, 2024. Student presentations will be evaluated by a committee representing academia and industry, with participants from universities in the UAE and around the world.
