Week one sees Ted Demopoulos leading SEC401: Security Essentials, Bootcamp Style. The course covers the skills and techniques required to protect and secure an organisation’s critical information assets and business systems. Students learn the most effective steps to prevent attacks and detect threats with techniques that can be applied directly back in the workplace, enabling them to remain at the cutting edge of cyber security.

James Lyne will lead SEC660: Advanced Penetration Testing, Exploit Writing, and Ethical Hacking. Students will look at real-world attacks used by the most seasoned penetration testers and the methodology behind them, followed by exercises in a real-world lab environment to solidify advanced concepts and lead to immediate application of such practices at work.

Week two of training will be led by James Tarala, teaching AUD507: Auditing Networks, Perimeters and Systems. This course provides a risk-driven method for designing an enterprise security validation program. Covering a variety of high-level audit issues and general audit best practice, students will explore the technical way key controls can be used to provide a level of assurance to an organization. Instructions on how to continuously verify these controls and techniques for constant monitoring and automatic compliance validation will be given from real-world examples.

Also, George Bakos leads SEC503: Intrusion Detection In-Depth teaching students how to detect and prevent intrusions. Against an ever changing security landscape, this course offers the core knowledge, tools and techniques required to defend networks effectively, including a wide spread of topics from foundational material such as TCP/IP to detecting an intrusion.
