Rainy Weather Continues in the UAE, More Rains and Wind Expected

Dubai: More rain and windy weather is expected this week as rains lashed various regions in the UAE today, following a wet weekend which saw floodings in many areas. According to forecasts, the rainfall is expected to continue.

The UAE National Centre for Meteorology has warned motorists to avoid flooded roads, while RTA and Dubail Municipality has informed that they are working to clear the roads for convenient traffic.

The lowest temperature recorded over the country today morning was 1.3 °C in Jais Mountain at 06:15 AM. Some areas saw hail rain in the mountainous region of Fujairah. Heavy rains lashed over Mohammed bin Rashed road, Al Dhaid Road, Al Khawaneej and various other regions in Sharjah and Abudhabi. 

The NCM forecasts say that Sharjah and Ajman would have heavy rain, while fresh winds would cause blowing dust.

Conditions in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea will be rough.

Transport services including flights, buses and ferries have been disrupted due to bad weather conditions. A number of flights have been delayed, Dubai Airports has advised travellers to check with their airlines before reaching the airport.

Meanwhile, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has suspended Dubai-Sharjah intercity ferry services.

As incessant winds and rains lash all parts of the country, around 2000 road accidents have been reported, media reported.
