Qatar Airways introduces additional flights to Tehran, Islamabad and Muscat

DOHA– Qatar Airways has announced increased frequencies to the popular cities of Tehran, Islamabad and Muscat. The additional flights, which include four for Tehran, two for Islamabad and four for Muscat per week, will commence September 1st, 3rd and 16th respectively. The additional flights are part of a surge in increased frequencies to a number of destinations across Qatar Airways’ network in response to a steady increase in passenger demand.

Tehran, which is currently served with 14 flights a week, will see an increase to 18 flights weekly when it adds four more flights commencing September 1. The capital city of Iran has become increasingly popular with tourists looking to discover the beautiful and rich history of one of the world’s most ancient civilizations.

Additionally, the airline which now flies to Islamabad once-a-day will see two more flights added to the schedule bringing the number of weekly flights up from seven to nine frequencies. This increase follows rapidly on from last year when Qatar Airways increased frequencies to Islamabad from four-flights-a-week to daily flights.

The additional flights will help meet the needs of those travelling to and from the Americas, which is a popular destination for many passengers from Pakistan. The short connection time at the world-class Hamad International Airport is another strong draw for those looking to make the cross-Atlantic journey.

With 31 weekly flights already servicing the Doha-Muscat route, the increase in passenger demand has led the airline to add an additional four flights, bringing the total number of flights up to 35 per week. With 5 flights daily to Muscat, Qatar Airways is able to cater to the many local residents who choose to visit the desert oasis for a short break. A popular destination, known for its stunning beaches, scuba diving and snorkeling, Oman welcomes scores of visitors from all over the world throughout the year.

“Today we are proud to announce these frequency increases in a move to better serve our passengers across our network,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker.

“People from all over the world are becoming more and more interested in discovering this part of the world. With such rich histories and stunning, undiscovered landscapes, these destinations are hidden gems that are slowly coming into their own.

“We have witnessed a great increase in passenger demand for both local passengers in each market, as well as international passengers looking to travel to each of these cities, and passengers on these flights can look forward to an enhanced travel experience with Qatar Airways’ five-star service as we welcome them onboard.”

Qatar Airways operates a large global network and as such presents a unique advantage for passengers seeking to reach the Middle East, the Far East, Europe, Africa and the North and South American markets with its seamless connections via Doha.

Among the 144 destinations currently served by Qatar Airways are London, Paris and Frankfurt, Milan, Singapore, Montreal, New York, Medina, Beirut and Istanbul – all better connected to Tehran, Islamabad and Muscat with the convenient timing of the additional flights and increased capacity.

Qatar Airways, the State of Qatar’s national airline, has seen rapid growth in just 17 years of operation, to the point where today it is flying a modern fleet of 134 aircraft to 144 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
