Oracle invites developers to take on the Java IoT Developer Challenge
DUBAI-The Java Internet of Things (IoT) Challenge is underway and Oracle is on the lookout foravid developers to submit their entries for a chance to win a trip to JavaOne 2014, in San Francisco, California.
Sponsored by Oracle Technology Network (OTN) and Oracle Academy, the challenge is a global online competition open to developers who create applications using Java Embedded with devices, boards and other IoT technologies. The competition has two categories, professional and student, and gives participants the opportunity to show the world their embedded Java plus Internet of Things (IoT) application.
To be in with a chance of winning, participants in either of the two categories must create a well-implemented, innovative and useful application using Java Embedded with devices, boards or other IoT technologies and make a video presenting their projects to be submitted with the code of their working project.
In the professional category,the prize is a trip to JavaOne 2014. Three members of the winning teams will receive a JavaOne 2014 pass plus flight and hotel (for up to $2,000).
In the student category, three members of the 1st prize winning student team will each receive a JavaOne 2014 pass + flight and hotel during JavaOne 2014 for up to $2,000 USD and three members of the 2nd prize winning team will each receive one laptop computer and one Oracle certificate exam voucher for a total value of $1,500 USD and three members of the 3rd prize winning team will each receive one laptop computer and one Oracle certificate exam voucher for a total value of $1,300 USD.
