Oman Ministry of Tourism highlights two new hotels in Arabian Travel Market 2014

DUBAI- Oman’s Ministry of Tourism has revealed its participation at the 2014 Arabian Travel Market to throw the spotlight on the two new hotels, Alila Jabal Akhdar and Salalah Rotana Resort in Salalah, Oman. The Alila Jabal Akhdar will be inaugurated on May 8, 2014, while Salalah Rotana Resort opened its doors to guests recently.

Through its participation at the ATM 2014, the  Oman Ministry of Tourism  will highlight the country’s growing travel and tourism sector along with its developing infrastructure. In 2013, 2.1 million tourists visited Oman and stayed in 284 hotels, resorts and guest houses. With the opening of announced new hotels, there will be more rooms available, offering increased variety for people visiting the Sultanate for leisure or business.

The visitors will get an overview of the Alila Jabal Akhdar and Salalah Rotana Resort at the Ministry’s stand at ATM 2014. Overlooking the Al Hajar Mountains, Alila Jabal Akhdar is an eco-friendly fivestar resort, designed to preserve natural beauty and protect the environment. The upscale resort offers spacious, contemporary-styled suites and rooms along with host of amenities such as fine-dining restaurants, pool, gym and spa, and conference facilities. The Salalah Rotana Resort, on the other hand, is set on the shores of the Indian Ocean in the hill town of Salalah. Inspired by traditional Omani architecture, the 400 rooms and suites of the resort are built in a way to enhance the water features around them.

Khalid Al Zadjali, Director of Tourism Events, Oman Ministry of Tourism, said: “The tourism and travel sector in the Sultanate of Oman is currently booming with an upsurge in international tourists. The investment in the sector in 2013 was OMR 254.6 million, which is predicted to rise by 11.7 per cent in 2014.

“Arabian Travel Market is a perfect event to reach out to our intended audience. The new hotels will further increase the accommodation capacity within the luxury segment of Oman’s hospitality sector. We will ensure that we generate more interest of international travel vendors and services providers by informing them about the country’s growing tourism sector,” concluded Al Zadjali.
