MUSCAT– Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) continues cooperation with a number of expertise houses and specialized IT and programming companies to produce a number of e-services that will be presented by OCCI to individuals and companies affiliated to OCCI.
The services comes within OCCI plan for e-transformation to ensure providing easy and high quality service and maintain e-connection with public organizations.
Abdul Azim bin Abbas al-Bahrani, Director General of OCCI said that the Chamber will soon issue new affiliation card on two phases. The first phase is to change the paper certificate into a card. At the second stage, the cards will have chip that meets the needs of the expected e-linkage.
He added that OCCI is currently working with a specialized local company to develop an application through smart phone to allow businessmen and businesswomen to benefit from the economic and investment information provided by OCCI.
He also pointed out that the agreement concluded with the GulfNet Solutions Establishment to create a portal on OCCI website aims at creating a database for major contractor looking for SMEs. The portal will help major contractors identify the SMEs that can carry out part of their works.-ONA
