MUSCAT– Said bin Saleh al-Kiyoumi, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today(August 27th) met with Mohsen bin Khamis al-Balushi, Advisor of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Board member of Oman Air and Paul Gregorowitsch, CEO of Oman Air.
The meeting discussed several points of importance regarding the development of the Omani economy, in cooperation with the relevant agencies, in addition to discussing the operation of direct flights to several countries. The two parties thought that such flights serve the country’s economic development, taking into consideration the study to operate direct flights from Muscat to Guangzhou in China due to its economic weight and wide experience in business.
The meeting also discussed the need for concerted efforts to promote tourism to the Sultanate and the great role played by air transport in tourism promotion. The two sides agreed to hold a meeting for OCCI, Oman Air and competent authorities in the area of tourism to work together for the betterment of this area due to its impact on the economy in general.-ONA
