North Island: The ultimate wellness escape for conscious travellers

As one of the most exclusive private islands in the world, North Island’s wellness offering goes far beyond spa treatments, yoga classes and fresh, healthy food. Wellness on North Island is all about the inclusive generous offering, the luxury of space, private island exclusivity and disconnecting to reconnect – all within an eco-friendly and sustainable setting.

“In today’s day and age, it is extremely rare for people to get the opportunity to disengage and disconnect from their frenetic lives. As conscious travellers are increasingly looking for destinations where they can get back to the ‘real world’, we pride ourselves on our holistic natural and exclusive wellness offering at North Island – it really is the perfect barefoot hideaway for guests to reconnect with nature, their loved ones, and most importantly themselves”, said North Island MD, Bruce Simpson.

Every guest’s stay on North Island begins with a complimentary 30-minute welcome treatment at the Spa. All guests are also able to enjoy a generous offer of 50% off the price of up to two spa treatments or private yoga sessions per guest, valid from 5 January to 22 December 2017. The spectacular setting of the Spa on one of the granite hills guarantees views over the Indian Ocean that are almost as relaxing as the treatments themselves. The sense of place is reinforced through the use of Thalgo spa products, created using salts and minerals sourced from the sea.

Immediately below the Spa is the North Island gym, fully equipped with Technogym machines and free weights. Yoga classes can also be enjoyed in the air-conditioned gym or private sessions arranged in guests’ luxurious villas, or at any one of the many exceptional outdoor spaces on the Island. Favourite yoga spots for both instructors and guests alike include the gym’s outdoor deck with exceptional ocean views, at the pool sala tucked away under a cool leafy canopy, or sunrise/sunset classes on East or West Beach. All villas are also equipped with eco-friendly cork yoga mats for guests to use anytime and anywhere they like.

Whilst some guests choose to simply relax on the Island’s white sand beaches, many guests do enjoy being active, surrounding themselves in nature and exploring the Island – both on land and in the water. The generous array of inclusive activities are many and varied: from snorkelling, diving, fishing, sunset cruises, kayaking, paddle boarding and surfing to exploring the cool forest trails and cycling.

“Not only is each guest’s itinerary completely flexible and personalised to suit their specific interests, but our food philosophy is also focused on creating bespoke and tailored menus, rooted in fresh, seasonal and relevant produce”, Simpson added. “Our chef designs menu suggestions on a daily basis according to the latest harvest from our organic vegetable garden or foraged from the Island, resulting in a healthy and flavourful menu that is consistently varied.”

All of North Island’s health and wellness offerings can be enjoyed by conscious travellers who can rest assured that by simply travelling to North Island, they are making a significant contribution to its pioneering Noah’s Ark Island Rehabilitation Programme and the ongoing biodiversity protection of some of Seychelles’ endemic species.

2017 rates for the Presidential Villas are €5,835 per night and €9,185 per night for Villa North Island. Children under the age of 17 sharing the second bedroom are free of charge. For young adults aged 17-19 sharing the second bedroom, the rate is €640 per night. All rates are exclusive of taxes for two adults in one Villa.
