Ningxia Autonomous Region seeks Jafza support in developing China-ME e-Commerce channel

DUBAI- A 13-member delegation from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, visited Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) last week to seek Jafza’s support in facilitating e-Commerce between Ningxia and the Middle East region following Jafza’s parent company Economic Zones World’s recent announcement to establish the world’s first purpose built smart retail hub named “matajircom”.

Ningxia PictureThe delegation comprising senior officials from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (NHAR), Yinchuan City and Free Trade Zone, National Engineering Laboratory for e-Commerce Transaction technologies and some private companies was received at the Free Zone by Adil Al Zarooni, Senior Vice President, Khalid Al Marzooqi, Senior Manager – Asia Pacific, Jafza and Naser Al Jumairi, Director of Jebel Ali, TECOM Customs Centre.

Adil Al Zarooni welcoming the Ningxia delegation at the Free Zone expressed his pleasure for NHAR’s keen interest in seeking Jafza’s support in facilitating e-Commerce between Ningxia and the Middle East region, which Jafza as a hub, serves. He said:

“We are happy to see Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region’s keen interest in using e-Commerce channel to strengthen bilateral trade between Ningxia and the UAE, as well as, the Middle East region and will be happy to extend our support for the same.

“Our recent launch of the world’s first purpose built smart retail hub “matajircom” will put in place an eco-system that will bring all players in e-Commerce supply chain to partner and collaborate to enable a customer initiate online trade with utmost precision and efficiency. We would welcome NHAR to take advantage of our facilities to establish and strengthen e-Commerce between the two sides.”

The key features of “matajircom” include e-Commerce tailored regulations and one-stop-solutions; physical fulfillment facilities and services; world-class financial infrastructure and payment gateway; high speed internet; storefront developer; e-marketplace platforms; and call centre services.

Ningxia is one of China’s the most promising autonomous regions. With proven deposits of 50 different minerals including coal, gypsum, oil, natural gas, pottery clay, quartz sandstone, and barite, Ningxia ranks among the most resource rich provinces in China.

Ningxia also has vast fertile land reserves. With extensive irrigation facilities and abundant sunshine at its disposal, Ningxia, in the recent years, has emerged as leading producers of fruit and grain, as well as, a centre for animal husbandry.   The region produces grapes, wolfberries, potatoes, rice, corn, wheat, sheep and cattle. It produces half of the world’s cashmere.

Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region plans to develop into a leading manufacturer of halal food and other halal products and textile. It is the only Hui (Chinese Muslim) autonomous region in China.

Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has been making continuous efforts over the years to strengthen its bilateral relations with the GCC. It has organized the first Chinese – Arab State Expo in 2013 and is using Arab Expo as a platform to become an important trade partner of the GCC countries.
