Modhesh World beckons families with fantastic line-up for Eid celebrations

DUBAI- Modhesh World, the region’s much-awaited family edutainment destination, is all set to welcome residents and visitors from around the world to enjoy a fantastic line-up of family fun during the forthcoming ‘Eid in Dubai -Eid Al Fitr’ celebrations.

Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment and the organisers of Modhesh World, has partnered with top international character licensors including Rovio, Sanrio and Hasbro  to bring some of the world’s most popular family entertainment charatcers to Modhesh World, including the World Premiere of the  global phenomenon, Angry Birds Universe and interactive experiences featuring the action heroes from  the science fiction hit, TRANSFORMERS, the world’s most popular cat, Hello Kitty and WWE, the wrestling entertainment concept.

Designed to offer families in Dubai a refreshing agenda of endless hours of action-packed entertainment, the appearance of these internationally renowned brands at Modhesh World is set further enhance Dubai’s position as a year-round family tourism destination.

IMG_8466Modhesh World, which is celebrating its 15th edition this year,  is also offering other fun activities for all ages including rides such as Carousel, Chair-O-Plane and Crazy Wave – as well as kiddie bungee jumping, bouncy castle-type inflatables, and arcade and video games.  Visitors can also learn more about Emirati culture and traditions at the Heritage Zone. Several roaming artists, interactive Meet and Greet opportunities with Modhesh and Hello Kitty, the Skate Demo Show, Eid Modhesh Show, Twister Balloon Show, Dance and Figure Skate Show and many other attractions are further enhancing the entertainment line-up at Modhesh World during Eid and all through summer.

Altogether, Modhesh World is the place for families to be in to enjoy unforgettable experience through numerous attractions and activities spread across several zones including a wide array of games, contests, rides, shows, adventure-oriented activities, and much more.

During the Eid holidays, Modhesh World is open from 10am to midnight; thereafter, until 8 September, from 10am to 10pm, Saturday to Wednesday; 10am to midnight on Thursday; 3pm to midnight on Friday.

 

KEY EXPERIENCES AND ATTRACTIONS AT MODESH WORLD 2014

World Premiere of Angry Birds Universe Interactive Experience

From first day of Eid until 8 Sept, Modhesh World, Dubai World Trade Centre

Modhesh World will witness the launch of the World Premiere of “Angry Birds Universe”, an interactive experience based on the popular phenomenon, and offering a whole new experience to families and children. The exclusive Angry Birds area at Modhesh World will have a number of games and hands-on activities covering science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics that will help broaden the knowledge of kids in an entertaining way and is fun for all, from toddlers to grandparents.

Hello Kitty and Friends Around The World

Until 8 September, Modhesh World, Dubai World Trade Centre,

Modhesh World will play host to the world’s most famous cat, Hello Kitty, who is bringing along her friends My Melody and twin sisters Kiki & Lala to go on a fun-filled trip to the leading cities of the world – Dubai, London, Tokyo, Moscow and Paris. The Hello Kitty and Friends around the World is a themed zone where Hello Kitty and friends engage in activities around   iconic landmarks like Eiffel Tower in Paris, as well as participate in fun workshops such as arts and crafts, face painting and fashion.

Transformers Interactive Experience

From first day of Eid until 8 September, Modhesh World, Dubai World Trade Centre

Transformers Interactive Experience lets pre-teens (above six years) and teenagers test their skills in activities and games through various experiences where  children will have to use their hand-eye co-ordination, fine motor and spatial skills, problem-solving capabilities and logic. Children can acquire some fascinating information about their favourite action heroes from the hit sci-fi movie.

WWE Interactive Experience

From first day of Eid until 8 September, Modhesh World, Dubai World Trade Centre

WWE has an extensive fan base across the Middle East, among children and adults alike, and now they have a chance to enjoy wrestling mania at Modhesh World! Children (above nine years) can participate in five experiences, none of which has body contact, including Super Strike, which allow participants to play with toys and have their photos taken with a life-sized cut-out. Other activities too give children the chance to have their photos taken as mementoes.

Lego/Duplo Zone

Themed games and activities in the Lego area will delight the whole family, including Build your own Dubai Skyline. The Duplo area is a soft play pit for children under five years. Duplo is a product range of Lego and is designed especially for tiny tots. This zone is a free play area that gives children an opportunity to play, have fun and enhance their young minds at the same time. Educators have always cited the Lego bricks’ potential to help children to develop creativity and problem-solving abilities.  This event will commence on 19 June.

Visitors to this zone can learn more about Emiratis customs, culture and cuisine. It also includes a place for Henna designs, as well as 20 shops showcasing and selling ethnic merchandise.

Winter Wonderland

An exciting attraction for all children above three years, Winter Wonderland has three distinct, ice-themed attractions: an Ice Rink that allows children to skate and take part in challenges on the ice participate in figure skating and ice hockey classes; a Glide Track, which will see kids sliding down on inner tubes and a Snow Park that gives a feeling of being in the North Pole, with artificial snow blowing around. Children can play in the snow, have snowball fights and make snowmen!  This event will commence on 19 June.

Children can enjoy a variety of rides and games in this zone. Among the popular attractions are Pony Express, Choco Cups, Big Apple, Ghost Train, Bungee Jumping, Crazy Wave, Inflatables, Samba Balloon, Battery Boat, River Boat Adventure, Go Gator, Dodgems, Chair0-Pane and Mini Carousel. Extra attention is given to ensure the safety of children during the rides. Each ride has specific age and height requirements that are followed up to guarantee complete safety. 

Target Shooting Zone

Indoor target shooting, offered by Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, is a great alternative to the classic paintball game. With a number of paintballs, players (above nine years) must shoot at targets at the end of the shooting range. Another challenging activity is target archery, where players shoot at the target of coloured rings with arrow tips, specially designed for indoor shooting.

Water Park

Children of all ages can enjoy water rides without the fear of getting wet, with bumper boats, water rollers and pedalos.

High Ropes Adventures

Children (nine to 12 years) tackle a walkway high in the air wearing a safety harness. They must sign a disclaimer beforehand and the height restriction is 1.2m.

Little Stars Zone

Little Stars entertains children (3-6, 7-10 years) with a variety of activities designed to help the younger ones develop their motor skills, under the guidance of trained sports teachers. The older children are taught how to play different sports – football, basketball, tennis, etc. They will all have a chance to take part in themed ‘parties’ such as Pirates and Princesses, as well as a mini-disco. The twice-daily creative workshops let them make fun items to take home with them. Sponsored by DEWA, the childcare facility features the Characters Noor and Hyatt in the DEWA who welcome everyone with balloons or a small gift.  This event will commence on 19 June.

Laser Quest

Using the very latest, state-of-the-art equipment, pre-teens and teenagers, wearing special vests, can experience an exhilarating laser tag game within a maze, without the mess that paintball creates, nor physical projectiles. Scores are tracked by laser technology on computer. Speciality games include Capture the Modhesh World Flag and Protect the Modhesh World VIP! This event will commence on 19 June.
