Dr. Sultan Ahmed Sharif, Director of the MHAP’s Visiting Consultants Office, stressed that selecting the medical specialities for the visiting consultants is subject to accurate criteria and is done according to the priorities of the programme, especially patients’; needs. “We do always select pioneer doctors when selecting in specialities. This is to achieve the outstanding results from the programme, in line with the ministry’s strategy to provide comprehensive and integrated health care services according to international standards”, he further said.

Dr. Sharif added that the smart online portal for the Visiting Consultants Programme launched by the ministry last April, has effectively contributed to accelerating performance, facilitating the flow of data, and following up the progress of applications. Thus, the programme has become even more dynamic, efficient, and accurate.

He noted that the portal has also helped measure the satisfaction of patients, visiting consultants and hospitals, through introducing customized questionnaires, which is reflected positively on patients especially that they are getting treated in UAE instead of travelling abroad for treatment.
