Minister of Culture opens exhibition by Ahmed Youssuf Al-Khulaifi

DOHA– HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad Abdulaziz Al Kuwari opened today(May 4th) a photography exhibition of artist Ahmed Youssuf Al-Khulaifi, organized by the Qatar Photographic Society.

The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage said in a statement after the opening that the exhibition, which will continue until the end of May, presents images depicting Qatar’s originality, traditions, history and traditional methods of hunting, the sport of the forefathers, saying that each image offers a glimpse and a moment experienced by the hunter while hunting to document this historical sport.

He pointing out that photography is not less than fine art if it provided images that will substitute for hundreds of words and include elements of excellence and aesthetic aspects.

Dr. Al Kuwari jotted down remarks in the Society’s book in which he expressed pleasure to see the work of the artist Ahmed Al-Khulaifi one after another. They act as paintings which offer all the elements that make them able to express what they want with precision, Dr. Al-Kuwari said expressing his admiration for the high level reached by the art of photography in Qatar which kept pace with the development taking place in the country and reflected Qatar’s picturesque nature.

He hailed artist Ahmed Al-Khulaifi and Qatar Photographic Society for the role they play in upgrading this fine artistic field.
The exhibition displays 46 photographs covering many aspects of hunting features according to the methods of grandparents and the effort and suffering they went through.-QNA
