Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort launches ‘Champions of Mazagan’ sports initiative

EL JADIDA- Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, a leading tourism destination in North Africa, has launched a new sports initiative entitled ‘Champions of Mazagan’ in collaboration with leading figures in in motorsport.

The resort has partnered with Mehdi Bennani, who has a large following in UAE, being the only Arab to be ranked in the global top ten in Touring Car Championship races.

In this collaboration between Mazagan and Bennani, a series of sport events will be organised across Morocco and the world. It will also be followed by other activities in different sports in the coming period.

The UAE has a large number of fans of Touring Car Championship races, who follow 12 international competitions in countries like Morocco, France, Hungary, Austria, Russia, Belgium, Argentina, United States, China, Japan and others.

Through this collaboration, Mazagan aims to attract sports enthusiasts by organising competitions to reinforce its position as a leading destination for entertainment in the Arab region.

According to the resort management, the new sports initiative is a response to the growing interest in motorsport in the Arab region and UAE in particular, who make up a large segment of the visitors to the resort.

Mazagan will also commit to supporting the social initiatives carried out by Bennani, including giving support to activities and services provided by a leading centre for re-educating children with special needs, which is supervised by an association in El Jadida city, benefiting about 160 children.

Mehdi Bennani’s career has been full of successes since his start with the Formula 3000 and then immediately afterwards in the World Touring Car Race as part of Proteam BMW team in 2013. Bennani recorded major achievement in 2011 in Maka Island, which took him to the sixth place at the end of the season. In 2012, he made his greatest achievement winning the first place during the NFL jackpot Hungary. He also won the eighth place in the Grand Prix of Brazil, and then was ranked seventh in the Grand Prix of Japan and fifth in Jackpot of China.

Situated an hour’s flight from Casablanca on a 7-km stretch of beach, Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort has 500 rooms that offer spectacular views of the ocean, lagoons and golf course, surrounded by 67 villas, landscaped gardens and a stunning swimming pool in the center.
