DUBAI- LinkedInannounced that it has reached 300 million members in more than 200 countries and territories. The company has added more than 23 million members since its last announcement on February 6, 2014.
Ali Matar, Head, Talent Solutions, LinkedIn MENA, said: “Our milestone of 300 million users shows the growing significance of LinkedIn to our members, recruiters, and marketers. We are proud to be at the forefront of reinventing professional networking. Our adoption in the GCC and broader region reflects the multi-cultural composition of the workforce, and the early adoption of global best-practices among the business and professional community here.”
All the GCC countries have crossed their ‘mobile moment’ – more than half the LinkedIn members in each of the six GCC states access the platform from a mobile device.
In addition to crossing 300 million members globally, LinkedIn has also announced that it has crossed 100 million members in the USA, showing that two-thirds of its member-base is spread across the globe.
Expanding beyond its history as an online professional networking platform, LinkedIn is also emerging as a leading publishing platform, with insightful content from industry leaders. LinkedIn sees its future in mobile access. Every day, an average of 15 million profile views, 1.45 million job views, and 44,000 job applications in 200 countries are through mobile devices.
