KUWAIT- President of the International Gymnastics Federation Bruno Grandi said on Tuesday(May 6th) that the federation’s meetings here over the next five days will deal with issues at improving the appeal of the sport to its fans.
In statements to KUNA, he said a number of issues will be discussed, among them changing some rules regarding the acceptance of prospective gymnasts for summer Olympics, looking into applications by countries wishing to host upcoming federation-sponsored tournaments, and making appropriate changes in the by-laws of the federation aimed at improving the technical and artistic levels of the sport.
On the current standard of gymnastics in the Arab world, Grandi noted improvement in some countries like Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan. He thanked Kuwait for hosting this year’s federation meetings to which delegations from sixty Arab and foreign countries have been invited.-KUNA
