Kicheche and Discover Africa launch package to celebrate Herdtracker app

Kicheche Camps and Discover Africa have launched a special holiday package to celebrate the new Herdtracker app.

The Herdtracker Kicheche Camps Safari starts from 12,000 AED per person including a six night luxury stay at Kicheche’s Mara and Bush camps, both in the Masai Mara, all meals, daily game drives and activities, return internal flights and airport transfers between the UAE and Kenya.

To book visit www.discoverafrica.com

The brand new HerdTracker app tracks the Great Migration through the Masai Mara and Serengeti in real time showing the precise location of the herds of 1.5 million animals, allowing wildlife enthusiasts to plan trips based on migration maps and week by week predictions.

The tool allows travellers to judge weather, wildlife, migratory movements, predator interactions and river crossings, with the data compiled by pilots flying over the Masai Mara and Serengeti, on the ground guides and rangers, as well as from lodges in Kenya.

The best time to visit the Masai Mara is between mid July and late October when the Great Migration passes through.

Each year, the Great Migration sees up to two million wildebeest and zebra undertake a journey of over 1,600 kilometres from the plains of the Serengeti to the grasslands of the Masai Mara.

Kicheche Camps, a group of small, privately owned luxury camps in Kenya’s Masai Mara and Laikipia conservancies, is currently gearing up to witness the spectacle.

Guests can choose from the classic Bush Camp located in the Orare Orok Conservancy, to the intimate Mara Camp located in the Mara North Conservancy, Kicheche Laikipia in the shadows of Mount Kenya or the newest addition, Kicheche Valley with views as far as the eye can see.

Kicheche’s four camps offer a genuinely responsible stay in Kenya. Each of the camps comprises just four or six tented suites so visitors experience a stay away from the crowds. The private guides are all at least Silver qualified and extremely knowledgeable of the wildlife, landscape and local culture. The landscape and wildlife are quiet and untouched, meaning that visitors will never suffer a crowd of vehicles.

Since launching in 2000, Kicheche Camps has grown from one small campsite in Kenya’s Masai Mara, to a luxury portfolio. However, Kicheche has not lost track of its roots, realising that guests desire a genuine wilderness awakening without diluting the wild bush experience. The camps are unfenced and superbly positioned in the legendary wilderness. Guests can enjoy superb and unlimited Kenyan wildlife viewing with no limit on drives, luxury under-canvas living, intuitive, personalised service, expertly mixed sundowners and gourmet cuisine served al-fresco.
