VIENNA- King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Int’l Center for Dialogue among followers of religions and cultures wrapped up a meeting designed to discuss ways to facilitate the peace process in Central African Republic.
Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muaamar, Secretary General of the center, said in a statement following the meeting that the center is keen to provide services and experiences to support reaching decisions to solve the impasse in Central African Republic.
Participants in the two-day meeting agreed that the dispute in the central African country is not a religious one but that having historical, political and economical roots, cautioning from a delay to adopt prompt measures to enhance dialogue among religions, and alleviate the humanitarian and security increasing crisis in the country.
The meeting was attended by a number of religious leaders, representatives of a number of religious organizations in Central African Republic and Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Peace makers network, United Religious Initiative and African Churches Council. –SPA
