Feeding time with King Croc at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
DUBAI- Visitors can now witness King Croc, one of the world’s largest reptiles, and his female companion of 20 years, take the fiercest bite by any animal, at an estimated 3,700 pounds per square inch, during their feeding sessions at 4pm daily at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo at The Dubai Mall.
King Croc’s diet is closely monitored and is around 12 pounds per day of chicken, beef or fish.
His head alone weighs over 150 kg and his 60 razor-sharp teeth are the size of an average index finger.
At over 5 metres long and weighing an imposing 750 kg plus, equivalent to the weight of over 15 fully-grown men, King Croc is 40 years old and has the potential to grow even bigger in the next 50 years of his expected lifespan.
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, managed by Emaar Retail LLC, features a 270-degree walkthrough tunnel.
Underwater Zoo, located on Level 2 above the main aquarium tank, presents the bio-diversity in different ecological zones including Rainforest, Rocky Shore and Living Ocean.
