Etisalat highlights new digital opportunities and challenges

DUBAI- Etisalat today(May 5th) urged companies to adapt to challenges and reap the benefits from opportunities in the Digital Transformation of their business at  Etisalat’s Digital Connect 2014. The annual event is a platform for leading enterprises to engage and interact to learn more about how digitalization is invading the business environment.

Abdulla Hashim, Senior Vice President, Digital services said: Etisalat has strived to support our client’s long term business goals by offering them our complete digital services portfolio. This includes managed mobility, security, M2M, Cloud.eCommerce and next generation IT network services across verticals in government, hospitality, retail, education, financial services, automotive among others.

The event highlighted how technologies get smarter and impact daily business, innovative ‘disruptive’ technologies such as M2M, security, mobility and the cloud have transformed the way we access information and changed the way we communicate with the world around us.

“Etisalat is building for the future and is fully aware of the ICT potential, hence, we continue to invest in Next Generation Network Infrastructure and connectivity with a focus on FTTH, wireless 3G & 4G/LTE network, and systems and service delivery platforms for an array of forward looking solutions that shall be delivered in conjunction with our partners and to satisfy the needs of Government, Business, and end users.”Abdulla Hashim added.

Etisalat has been involved in the machine to machine (M2M) market for around six years now. Originally, the company focused simply on providing connectivity that would connect various machines – through SIM cards and data packages. Etisalat has considerably upped its game when it comes to M2M and now offers platforms, applications and hardware.

Cloud computing services, be it software-as-a-service  (Saas), infrastructure-as-a-service (Iaas) or platform-as-a-services (PaaS), are finding increasing adoptions among organisations in the Middle East. The public cloud services market is predicted to exceed $180 billion by 2015, according to Gartner and Etisalat has been at the forefront of this transformation.

Business continuity, flexibility and speed of deployment are the top drivers of investment in cloud technologies. Etisalat offers a single carrier grade platform for cloud services with benefits such as top brands, single sign on and single bill coupled with federated platform for SaaS, IaaS and Paas.

With these disruptive technologies, the threat landscape is changing rapidly and Etisalat is proactively providing security as a wraparound on our services. Our Managed Security Services and network security services like DDoS Mitigation & Cloud Based Web & Email security,  provides our customers the best of breed protection in this ever changing landscape.
