Dubai World Central-Business Park highlights business opportunities in Dubai during visit to India

DUBAI – Dubai World Central (DWC), the world’s first purpose-built aerotropolis, recently embarked on a six-day tour of India in a bid to establish relations with the country’s business community and promote its rapidly expanding Business Park Free Zone to local companies and investors.

The DWC delegation made its first stop in New Delhi before proceeding to Bangalore and Mumbai. DWC supported by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), met with key business organizations, influencers, major business management groups, lawyers, and consultants.

The state-of-the-art DWC Business Park offers a fully integrated business environment to cater to various requirements of businesses operating in the UAE.  More than 20,000 square meters of office space has been leased in 2014 to date, with additional space being fitted out at present to cater to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Indian companies, especially the growing SME segment, that are interested in bringing their operations to this emerging business destination can set up their offices within three to four weeks. The Park’s first-rate commercial buildings and offices offer unmatched scalability and flexibility for time- and cost-efficient operations.

Mr. Paolo Serra, Vice President of Business Park, Dubai World Central, said: “More than 50 per cent of the companies established in DWC are either fully or partially owned by Indian investors, reflecting the emirate’s productive and long-standing relationship with India. In 2013, India emerged as the top trading partner of Dubai after recording a trade volume of USD 37 billion to account for 10 per cent of the emirate’s total foreign trade. At DWC Business Park, we believe that we can strategically contribute to an even stronger partnership. Indian businessmen can quickly establish their businesses at DWC, the new gateway of global commerce. In addition, as a Free Economic Zone, we offer 100 per cent foreign ownership and a zero tax policy along with a variety of business licenses.”

“The Business Park, an integral part of DWC, has witnessed an increased demand for office space in 2014. With premium infrastructure and flexibility to grow and expand in the future, we are confident that the Park will continue to attract a large number of Indian companies that are looking to either establish or reinforce their presence in the Middle East,” he added.

Dubai World Central, host to World Expo 2020, is a planned Residential, Commercial and Logistics Complex. It is set to be world’s first truly integrated and self-sustained economic zone and logistics platform supporting a wide-range of transport modes, logistics, and other value-added services including manufacturing and assembly.

DWC is set to emerge as the new business hub of Dubai in 2020 due to its strategic location. It is 30 minutes away from central Dubai, 15 minutes from New Dubai and the Marina, and 45 minutes from Abu Dhabi’s new growth corridor – Yas Island and Abu Dhabi International Airport.

With the rapidly expanding Al Maktoum International Airport and Jebel Ali Port, the aerotropolis is expected to account for 60 per cent of Dubai’s gross domestic product by 2023.
