DREI Graduates 22 Students from ‘My Real Estate Idea’ Programme

Dubai: Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) at Dubai Land Department (DLD) announced the graduation of 22 students enrolled in the ‘My Real Estate Idea’ programme that was specifically targeted talented students from various ages and nationalities. In addition, DREI also organised an awareness-raising session for educators in cooperation with the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance (Hamdan Foundation).

HE Sulaiman Al Ansari, CEO of Hadman Foundation, commented: “We are pleased to partner with DREI and work in collaboration to improve the capabilities of our educational cadres and students. This cooperation is a result of our belief in the positive impact that educators leave on students, their ability to focus, and their aspirations on disciplines that serve the labour market, abreast of national goals that align with the vision of our wise leadership. We hope to continuously cooperate with DLD for the benefit of both parties, especially following the success that was achieved by the programme.”

Held 21 July – 1 August, the programme focused on talented and academically accomplished students between the ages of 12 and 18, specifically middle and high school students, to help create training opportunities for them and provide them with real estate knowledge as well as city building and design. Thanks to this programme, students were introduced to concepts that covered constructing properties, towers, and houses, in addition to DLD’s role in Dubai’s real estate sector.

Hend Al Marri, CEO of DREI, said: “The programme helped us achieve an important goal: to prepare a real estate generation that contributes to building the future of the UAE and designing cities, especially as the programme contributed to raising the level of creativity and innovation across all real estate fields among enrolled students as well as exploring their abilities during their participation in brainstorming with others.”

Al Marri added: “Through these programmes, we seek to motivate students to learn and research as well as prepare an effective generation capable of assuming responsibilities towards its homeland by developing their mental skills in addition to their thinking and innovation abilities, and involve them in building their city to serve the needs of future generations within smart and advanced cities.”

The programme included two main phases, the training phase and the innovation phase, each of which comprises a full week, 5 hours a day. The training phase included lectures with specialised real estate workshops presented by an industry-specialised trainer at DREI, while the innovation phase was a competition to measure students’ mental abilities in this sector. Through it, the students were able to unleash and expand their mental abilities by offering and developing an idea, project, or design in an innovative manner that incorporated what was done during the training phase.

Based on its training approach, in line with the aspirations of the UAE and the wise leadership and as part of its commitment to support innovation and smart transformation, DREI also organised a training course for teachers that aimed to train and educate them in real estate through providing an integrated introductory course that includes real estate knowledge, its fundamentals, and the most important relevant laws.

The two-day course held, 28 – 29 July, contributed to raising the level of awareness and education of the real estate sector and the importance of real estate investment, increasing knowledge, raising real estate competencies in society and individuals as well as the awareness of the community of the real estate market and its transparency among educators.
