DUBAI- The stars of Disney On Ice presents Rockin’ Ever After arrived in town this week as preparations begin for the coolest show on ice at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) arena from September 10th – 13th.
While Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and the rest of the cast have been exploring the city, ice engineers at the DWTC have been busy building the ice using two 64,000 kilogram refrigeration units to freeze 48,000 litres of water to create the magical arena that will take families and friends on an unforgettable journey.
For many of the 100 cast and crew members, who began descending on Dubai on August 20, this is their first visit to the United Arab Emirates.
“The majority of the cast has never been to the Middle East but have heard a lot about Dubai’s culture and tradition,” she said. “Many have spoken about exploring the old city while others are keen to go on a desert safari. Ultimately we are all thrilled to be here and I speak on behalf of everyone when I say we’re looking forward to bringing some of the Disney magic to the Dubai.”
In addition to show rehearsals, there are many exciting surprises and public appearances scheduled around the city, including the opportunity for some of the UAE’s budding young skaters to take part in a ‘Skating Master Class’ with the Disney On Ice presents Rockin’ Ever After performers and a special reading with Belle.
Until recently, Disney On Ice presents Rockin’ Ever After had only toured the United States. The show, which takes audiences on a breath-taking adventure with their favourite Disney characters – both classic and new, begins its world tour in Dubai before moving onto Doha.
Produced by Feld Entertainment, brought to the UAE by Etisalat, organised by Sport and Entertainment Solutions (SES) and supported by Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), this rock star extravaganza will bring together all-time favourite Disney characters from stories includingDisney•Pixar’s BRAVE, and Disney’s Tangled, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast, in a visually stunning production. Complemented by award-winning music, stunning choreography and beautiful costumes, the show will deliver a lifetime of memories.
“The team is ecstatic to welcome the show’s stars, cast and crew, and we look forward to an action-packed, fun-filled couple of weeks in the final lead up to the show,” said Ali Haidary, the Founder and CEO of Sport & Entertainment Solutions (SES).
“It is difficult to explain just how much goes into making a production of the scale and magnitude of Disney On Ice a reality, but we know it will be worth it when we see the look of wonder on the face of so many children.”
Sport & Entertainment Solutions announced in early June that Disney On Ice presents Rockin’ Ever After would be coming to dazzle audiences in the Middle East for the first time.
The show will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre Arena from September 10th – 13th. Tickets start from AED175 and are available from all Virgin Megastores and online www.virginmegastore.ae.
