The initiative, implemented under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, supports Dibba Al-Hisn’s vision to become a regional leader in health and environmental benchmarks. It is aligned with the ongoing “Sharjah Healthy City” programme.
A mobile air quality monitoring vehicle will be used to assess pollution levels in key areas of the city. The data collected will help guide environmental decisions such as landscape design, tree planting, infrastructure improvements, and public health planning.
Talib Abdullah Al Yahyai, Director of Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality, said the program demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to promoting a healthy environment by ensuring continuous air quality assessment and taking data-driven action to reduce pollution.
He added that the initiative would also enhance public environmental awareness and serve as a tool for health and sustainability planning. By linking environmental data to health outcomes, the program aims to improve long-term community well-being.
Al Yahyai thanked Sharjah Municipality for its cooperation, highlighting the importance of inter-agency partnerships in achieving the emirate’s broader goals of sustainability, service efficiency, and enhanced quality of life.
