Dubai, UAE – Canon Middle East has announced the launch of the EOS C400 cinema camera featuring an RF mount, alongside the new CN7x17 KAS T lens. This debut aims to elevate large-scale productions with enhanced versatility and cutting-edge technology.

A Versatile All-in-One Solution

Designed to meet the diverse needs of the market, the EOS C400 supports various types of productions, including indie cinema, documentaries, live broadcasts, and electronic news gathering. It is Canon’s first high-end RF mount cinema camera, setting a new standard within the EOS R System. Compact and powerful, the camera features advanced specifications typically found in larger models, prioritizing ease of use and operability.

Advanced Technology for Superior Image Quality

The EOS C400 is equipped with a 6K full-frame backside-illuminated, stacked CMOS sensor (BSI), providing 16 stops of dynamic range for exceptional light capture and faster readouts. It introduces Canon’s triple base ISO technology with base levels of 800, 3,200, and 12,800, ensuring optimal performance in low light conditions. An automatic switching mode further enhances usability by adjusting the base ISO level according to ambient lighting.

It also supports Canon’s EF-EOS R mount adapters and the new PL-RF mount adaptor, offering enhanced metadata capabilities and connectivity options for real-time data capture, benefiting VFX and virtual production workflows.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II for Precise Focus

Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology provides 100% coverage across the sensor plane, offering precise and swift autofocus. Features like face, eye, body, and animal tracking enhance the reliability and ease of use, especially in fast-paced environments.

Flexible Recording Formats

The EOS C400 offers multiple internal recording formats, including 12-bit Cinema RAW Light LT/ST/HQ, 4:2:2 10-bit XF-AVC, and new MP4-based XF-AVC S and XF-HEVC S formats. These options support detailed filmmaking workflows with professional filename and metadata support.

Compact and Functional Design

Building on the design of the EOS C500 Mark II, the EOS C400 offers a more compact form while maintaining extensive connectivity options. Its versatile accessories, including an advanced top handle and improved hand grip, accommodate various shooting styles, whether handheld, on a gimbal, drone, or shoulder-mounted.
