Bahrain's openness to investments re-affirmed

DUBLIN- The Bahrain-Irish Friendship Committee at the Shura Council has affirmed Bahrain’s openness to all foreign investments, noting that the kingdom boasts an legislative framework that attracts investments.

This came as the delegation met the Irish Minister for Trade and Development Joe Costello.

The Minister welcomed the delegation and affirmed the solid bilateral relations, particularly in the educational field.

He expressed hope that the two countries expanded areas of bilateral cooperation, especially trade exchange. 

He appreciated the National Dialogue in Bahrain, stressing the importance of dialogue in solving many crises, citing the Irish experience in this regard.

He expressed desire to visit the kingdom to hold comprehensive talks on trade issues, noting that the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Irish Parliament will pay a one-day visit to Bahrain where he will meet the Industry and Commerce Minister and Representatives and Shura Councils’ Chairmen.

Head of the delegation and the Second Deputy Chairperson of the Shura Council Bahiya Al-Jishi said that the two friendly countries should enhance joint trade cooperation, just like the medical one so as to launch new partnerships.

She thanked Minister Joe Costello for his interest to develop relations between the two friendly countries.

The delegation also held a meeting with the Irish Parliament’s Secretary-General briefed in details about the work mechanisms of the Legislative Branch there, the relationship between the House of Representatives and Senate, parliamentary committees’ work, as well as the history and achievements of the Irish Parliament.

Members of the delegation lauded the positive results of their visit to the Republic of Ireland regarding the exchange of parliamentary expertise and the consolidation of relations between the Shura Council and the Irish Parliament.

They praised the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to them by members of the Irish Parliament, which, they said, reflects the outstanding Bahraini-Irish relations. -BNA
