Bahraini Women & Entrepreneurship Forum opens

MANAMA- Under the patronage of Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro opens Bahraini Women & Entrepreneurship Forum and Exhibition under the theme of “Women, Leadership, Distinction, and Innovation”. The forum is organized by the Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship & Investment in cooperation with the Universal World Conventions & Exhibitions and Bahrain Businesswomen Society.

02During the opening ceremony, Dr. Fakhro delivered a speech stating that this event reflect and translate government’s interest in business sector and in particular the roles played by women in forming economic reality and highlighting kingdom’s image as a leading position for business and investments.

Dr. Fakhro acknowledges that the great cooperation that links the Ministry with the UNIDO program through many events and programs that are in the end in favor of the national economy.

He added that the various programs organized and sponsored by the Ministry in collaboration with the “UNIDO” has resulted in providing more job opportunities for young people and reduce unemployment.

Dr. Fakhro pointed out that the women share an equal if not greater, with men share in this sector. Women today lead many economic institutions, including small and medium.

Dr. Fakhro added that the economic activity need today ideas and innovations and initiatives of all, a quick look on the participation rates of women in business in Bahrain, according to the latest report of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in 2013 has witnessed an increase in the number of institutions owned by the “Women “10.3% compared to 2012. Women contribution increased from 39.5% in 2011 to 40.5 in 2013.

The forum which will run from May 20-22 aims at creating and promoting awareness on entrepreneurship among current and potential women entrepreneurs; thus motivating them to translate their ideas into commercial ventures. The forum will also address issues related to health and wellness.-BNA
