RAS AL KHAIMAH- American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) and UniversitiTeknologi Mara (UiTM) of Malaysia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand academic collaboration and exchange of expertise.
The MoU was signed recently by Professor Hassan Hamdan Alalkim, President of AURAK and Professor Dr. Mohd Nasir Taib, Dean Faculty of Electrical Engineering , of UiTM, during the former’s visit to academic institutions in Malaysia.
“We are delighted to initiate this collaboration with UiTM, one of Asia’s leading universities,” said Prof. Alalkim. “We look forward to building strong links with UiTM University for mutual benefit. This MoU is part of AURAK’s intensified campaign to build new partnerships with leading international universities as we pursue aggressively our goal of becoming a leading provider of quality higher education in the region.”
UiTM is Malaysia’s largest institution of higher learning in terms of size and student population. It has experienced phenomenal growth since its inception in 1956. Beside the main campus in Shah Alam, the university has expanded nationwide with 12 state campuses, 17 satellite campuses and 21 affiliated colleges. With this vast network, workforce of 17,770 and 175,200 students, the university offers more than 500 academic programs.
