‘Being at its second phase the program has been successful as many as 100 students including boys and girls joined in the program’, he said.
According to him, Dubai Municipality has qualified them for conducting awareness activities on sustainable waste management and has given them training on recycling of waste materials as well as to deliver lectures on reuse and reduce waste.
Civic body has awarded each of them with ‘Ambassador of Sustainability’ certificates as they are qualified and trained to lead workshops and awareness lectures inside their institutions as well as in outer circles, he said.
The new batch of green ambassadors include secondary, higher secondary and university level students.
Eng. Saifaie said, Dubai Municipality is coming up with such initiatives in line with the directives of the wise leadership of Dubai, with regards adopting environment-friendly policies and strategies.
Dubai Municipality is trying to make positive changes in the attitudes of public toward environment and students are the best players to carry out this mission to wider sections of society, he observed.
