Amadeus and Qatar Airways extend partnership

DOHA– Amadeus and Qatar Airways today(May 11th)  announced a multi-year extension of their existing IT services agreement.

As part of the collaboration, Qatar Airways will continue to benefit from Amadeus’ portfolio of technology products and solutions to provide its widening customer base with best-in-class services. Further, Amadeus’ Altea Suite, the complete Passenger Service System (PSS), will enable the airline to strengthen its business strategy and increase efficiency through automation to boost revenue generation and customer retention.

François Weissert

François Weissert, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Adviser to the CEO, Middle East and Asia, Amadeus, said: “The fast-paced technological environment today, coupled with burgeoning competition in the aviation industry have made strong infrastructure a vital necessity to support the growth of any business. Amadeus has had a long-standing relationship with Qatar Airways and our state-of-the-art IT solutions have been instrumental in enabling the airline to maintain and enhance its uncompromising service standards. The extension of our relationship is testimony to the effectiveness of our collaboration.”

Comprising three core components, Altéa Reservation, Altéa Inventory and Altéa Departure Control, the Altéa Suite offers a uniquely integrated Passenger Service System (PSS) that effectively allows airlines to make the transition to next-generation products and services. In addition, the unique airline PSS ensures low-risk implementation of highly complex processes and safeguards critical business functions.

In recent years, Qatar has consolidated its position as the sports and business hub of the Middle East, resulting in additional momentum for the country’s busy air travel sector. Moreover, Qatar Airways’ expanding route network, along with its five-star airline rating awarded by Skytraxx, has translated into increased customer footfall for the airline, validating its efforts to continuously innovate and improve on its existing service and product offerings.

A T Srinivasan, Qatar Airways Chief Information Officer, said: “Qatar Airways has been a key player in the air travel market since 1997, providing best-in-class products and services to travellers worldwide. Amadeus’ technology solutions have played a pivotal role in helping us deliver the quality, speed and efficiency that we pride ourselves in, and we are happy to extend this synergistic partnership for the ultimate benefit of our customers.”
