Al Ain Zoo to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with exciting activities and new exhibits

AL AIN- On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, Al Ain Zoo will be welcoming guests who will enjoy exciting performances and activities that will provide an unforgettable zoo holiday experience throughout the Eid holidays.  Visitors of all ages will enjoy these events from 10am to 10pm on the first three days, and from 10am to 8pm on the final day of Eid Al Fitr.

Al Ain Zoo will be presenting a ‘Eidiya’ for visitors – a gift traditionally offered on the occasion of Eid – with each guest receiving a complimentary entrance ticket to use on their next visit.

Guests will be greeted with true Emirati hospitality, while hosts offer coffee, tea, dates and halwa, and traditional Emirati cuisine. Other family activities that visitors can enjoy during the holidays at the zoo will include performances of the traditional Emirati dance Harbeya, arts and crafts, henna, painting, the parrot show, and a marionette show which will take place three times a day during Eid.

Commenting on the Eid festivities, Rashed Al Saadi, Communications Manager at Al Ain Zoo said:“Eid Al Fitr has always been an exciting time at Al Ain Zoo, and we have been preparing our Eid programmes in order to provide the best possible experience and a learning environment for visitors, where they can watch and interact with wildlife and nature. The zoo is offering a wide range of exciting activities and we are confident they will be enjoyed by guests of all ages, making their Eid holiday a memorable one.”

“This year, Al Ain Zoo promises more surprises and unique activities.” He added

A number of activities have been added this year, where guests are provided with the opportunity to discover the zoo’s diverse species, which include informative discussions on the hippopotamus, live crocodile feedings, and learning more about the conservation programmes for the zoo’s lions, tigers, and primates. Children will also have chance to feed the birds.

Of special note is the chance to see the zoo’s new arrivals, from Madagascar’s Ring Tailed Lemur’s, to the Rock Hyrax and Dwarf Caiman Crocodiles. To celebrate their arrival and crown the festivities of Eid, the zoo is giving all new visitor arrivals a chance to win Free Flights courtesy of Etihad, to any of their scheduled destinations worldwide. This means visitors can find their favourite animals in the zoo, and then can win a chance to see them in their home country. All visitors have to do is sign up at www.alainzoo.ae to the mailing list to enter.

Commenting on the initiative Rashed said “This prize marks the start of a great relationship with Etihad. With our animals coming from all over the world, it is a very fitting prize. We hope people use a walk around the zoo to help work out where they would wish to fly if they won!”
