Abu Dhabi University Hits 4,000 Research Papers in Global Index

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi University (ADU) is making waves in the academic world, smashing past 4,000 research publications in the elite Scopus Index, a milestone announced by its Office of Research and Sponsored Programmes (ORSP) on April 4, 2025. This feat cements ADU’s status as a powerhouse of high-impact research, tackling everything from engineering breakthroughs to health science solutions and economic insights.

The numbers are staggering: ADU’s work has racked up 77,445 citations worldwide, averaging 19.4 per paper. A whopping 16.9% of its studies rank in the top 10% most cited globally, while 27.5% grace the pages of the world’s top 10% journals by CiteScore. With a Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) of 2.55—well above global norms—ADU’s research isn’t just prolific; it’s influential.

Professor Montasir Qasymeh, ADU’s Associate Provost for Research, didn’t hold back his pride: “We’re leading the charge in groundbreaking research, pushing scientific boundaries and tackling global challenges head-on. This milestone reflects our relentless drive to boost the UAE’s innovation game and make a real difference, locally and beyond.” He’s got a point—67.6% of ADU’s papers come from tie-ups with 2,471 institutions worldwide, including big names like Oxford and Texas A&M, yielding 2,336 co-authored gems.

From day one, ADU has poured effort into building a research hub that sparks ideas and solves problems. Whether it’s pioneering tech or addressing societal woes, their faculty and scholars are shaping a future that aligns with the UAE’s vision for a knowledge-driven economy. With global partnerships growing and interdisciplinary projects thriving, ADU’s not slowing down—it’s just getting started.
