Dubai to be ‘United in Celebration’ for Eid Al Adha from September 25 to October 11

DUBAI-The Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) has announced the calendar of events for the seventh edition of “Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha”, which is set to kick off on 25 September and will run until 11 October.

IMG_4673During the 17-day celebrations, visitors and residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a host of festival-themed entertainment, including events and activities designed to cater to families and individuals of all nationalities – encouraging visitors from around the region and beyond to make the most of the unique experiences that Dubai has to offer during these much-awaited Eid holidays.

Complemented by the city-wide decorations that further enhance the lively festive atmosphere of the city, the “Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha” celebrations are aimed at strengthening Dubai’s position as the choicest family-favorite destination during the Eid holidays.  

Shoppers can look forward to a world-class shopping experience in Dubai, with the leading malls and shopping centers offering extended hours – providing visitors ample time to enjoy the emirate’s bustling retail scene topped off by exciting promotions and family-oriented in-mall entertainment throughout the 17 days of festivities.

Rotana Eid Al Adha Concerts

5 and 6 October, 11:00pm

Well-known artists from the Arab musical industry are gearing up to enthrall their fans in Dubai during the seventh edition of “Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha.” Music aficionados can root for Rabeh Sager and Shamma Hamdan on the first day of the concert and join Mohammed Abdo and Arwa for a musical spectacle on the second day at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Tickets are priced between AED 300 and AED 2,500.

 

“Layali Al Eid” Concerts

5– 6 October

Residents and visitors of Dubai are in for two musical dates this Eid Al Adha. On 5 October, fans can look forward to enjoying a live concert with Lebanese musician Melhem Barakat, popular singer Ayman Zbib, and singer Oumnia Mohamed. On 6 October, a Moroccan musical spectacle awaits visitors as they join the celebrated artist Saeeda Sharaf and singer, songwriter and composer Najat Aatabou for another magical night.  Tickets for the concert are priced at AED 900, AED 1200 and AED 1500.

 

Dhun Ki Dhoom Concert

Dhun Ki Dhoom is a grand Indian musical concert featuring award-winning artists such as Krishna Kumar (KK) and Monali Thakur, who are bringing to Dubai their greatest hits and latest music to serenade their fans in Dubai. Aladdin An Arabian Adventure is a musical story for young visitors from the ages of 4 and 11 years and older based on the celebrated tales of One Thousand and One Arabian Nights and made popular by the Disney movie.

 

Ismat Apa Ke Naam

10 – 11 October, 6:30pm

DUCTAC Theatre, Mall of the Emirates

Talented theatre and film artists from India including Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa and Loveleen Mishra are touching down in Dubai for their first-ever solo performance in a one-act play organized as part of the series of the popular “Ismat Apa Ke Naam” play written by Ismat Khanum Chughtai and directed by the legendary Naseeruddin Shah. The 120-minute show will bring to life three short stories enacted into plays in the Urdu language. The second part of the popular series is being enacted for the first time in the Dubai and the UAE. Tickets are priced between AED 100 and AED 500.

 

Sesame Street Live – Elmo Creates Music

Sesame Street is making its way to Dubai this Eid Al Adha to perform live on stage at Madinat Jumeirah Theatre. The spectacular “Elmo Creates Music” show will feature children’s favorite characters such as Elmo, Big Bird and Abby Cadabby as they sing and dance to upbeat music.  Single tickets are priced at AED 249.

They have also sold over 3.5 million concert tickets till date.

 

Princesses of Pop

The star-studded musical show is an incredible tribute to Princesses of Pop such as Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Rihanna and Katy Perry as award-winning look-alike singers electrify the stage with the singers’ popular soundtracks and recreate all the glitz and glamour fans associate with their favourite pop stars through customized costumes. Wonho Chung Show

Wonho Chung is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, singer, musician, interviewer and media personality. Born to South Korean and Vietnamese parents, Wonho was raised in Jordan speaking Arabic as his mother tongue. His fluency in the language of the region and immersion in is culture from childhood have given this multi-talented entertainer a unique Asian-Arab perspective, enabling him to make a strong connection with audience in this part of the world.
