DUBAI-This summer, fashionistas in Dubai can look forward to showcasing their most stylish self with confidence.
The Creative Director of KLS and fashion mogul Kimora Lee Simmons is arriving in the city on 10 August to host an interactive style session at The Dubai Mall Fashion Catwalk during Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2014.
The fashion soiree, which is being presented by Dubai Summer Surprises as part of the line-up of events and activities for the on-going 17th edition of the annual summer extravaganza, will be hosted by Kimora Lee Simmons, where she will take to the stage in style to offer the fashion-conscious in town, valuable advice on how to dress for the occasion and according to one’s personality, as well as useful tips and tricks on accessorizing with day wear, evening wear, abayas, and more.
She will also interact with the audience throughout the session by taking questions in between each look.
Guests will watch three leading Dubai personalities from the fashion industry outfit models from head-to-toe, featuring clothing and accessories from Galeries Lafayette, the forefront of retailing in Dubai.
Stylists will take their pick in womenswear, abayas, eveningwear, jewellery, luxury, accessories, shoes, beauty, and more from a coveted ensemble of renowned fashion labels and brands.
The latest fashions of designer brands including Coco Box, Gerard Darrel, Paul Ka, Poca & Poca, Queen of Spades, Reiss, Sohad Acouri and more, will take centre stage at the event.
In addition to clothing, Mac makeup artists will be revealing the latest trends in makeup on the models, with Jacque La Coupe salon showcasing the hot new looks in hair styling.
The invitation-only event is organized by Maven Marketing & Events, the region’s leader in entertainment marketing.
Kimora Lee Simmons is a highly acclaimed fashion designer, lifestyle entrepreneur and beauty maven well known for being the face of Chanel, her hit docu-reality series Kimora, Life in the Fab Lane, and as the former President and Creative Director of Phat Fashions, comprising the Phat Farm and Baby Phat brands.
In 2011, she joined JustFab as President and Creative Director, developing an exclusive collection of shoes and bags for the online subscription-based brand, which is currently the world’s largest online footwear retailer boasting 800,000 members and $500 million in sales volume in its fourth year.
Continuing her legacy in fashion, Simmons is launching a new designer KLS line this fall internationally, with the global ecommerce site launching in October, and plans to bring the luxurious yet versatile collection to the bustling retail sector in Dubai.
She will be meeting with top distributors and buyers while in Dubai, offering them a sneak peak of the designer collection of exquisitely crafted, multifunctional statement pieces designed to meet the diverse needs of the modern woman’s richly faceted lifestyle.
The 17th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises is organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). DSS 2014, commenced on 2 August and will run until 5 September, under the theme, “The Fun Side of Summer.”
